Director of Scouting - Andrew Sykes
Entering his fifth season, Andrew takes over as the Director of Scouting for TheScout.ca. Based in Windsor-Essex County, Andrew also works with the LaSalle Vipers of the GOJHL in their Hockey Operations. He launched his scouting career by creating a site that covered the Windsor-Essex area. He then joined TheScout.ca where he was an Alliance scout while also contributing to all the site's other undertakings. Follow @ASykes_7
SCTA - GOJHL - Matt Stewart
Matthew is entering his fifth year at TheScout.ca and he brings a hardworking dedication to the job. A background in coaching gives him an edge when assessing talent. Matt is a real up and coming talent in the scouting world and has all the tools to be successful. He has graduated Brock University with a Sports Management degree. Based in the Niagara region, he covers the OMHA-SCTA and beginning this year will also cover the GOJHL, Major Midget and Bantam as with TheScout.ca’s expanding coverage. Follow @stewbucs on Twitter
ETA - Trevor Revoy
Trevor is entering his first full season with TheScout.ca after joining late last season working mainly on the major midget draft. He will be covering the ETA minor midget this year. The previous two season Trevor has worked with the Lindsay Muskies as a scout and this year will also be assisting with the minor bantam Central Ontario Wolves team. Trevor lives in Peterborough and has beautiful Fiance, Tayler. He is very excited to get started and help contribute to a great website.

CCHL/HEO U18 - Mat Milbery
Originally from Halifax Nova Scotia, Mat Milbery played AAA hockey before attending a prep school in Maine USA. Played for the Brockville Braves of the CCHL from 2003-2005, and CIS hockey at Royal Military College in Kingston ON from 2005-2007. Started coaching AAA hockey in the Ottawa area in 2009 and has been involved in coaching AAA hockey in the Ottawa area since 2009, aBeginning in 2014, Mat has been a Scout & Director of Player Development with the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL. He holds a Business – Administrative Accounting Diploma from St. Lawrence College Cornwall and is a Financial Security Advisor with Freedom 55 Financial. CCHL/HEO U18 - Brent Craswell
In his second year with TheScout.ca, Brent grew up in New Brunswick, Alberta, and Nova Scotia. He played goaltender at the AAA level in Nova Scotia before accepting an athletic scholarship from Lakefield College School in the CISAA. He started in goal for LCS for three seasons before graduating. He went on to obtain degrees in History and Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a Law degree from Queen’s University. Brent now practices at a full service law firm in Ottawa. He is thrilled to be back spending time in rinks, and looks forward to expanding on his scouting skills this winter. Alliance- Joe Highgate
Joe rejoins the TheScout.ca team after serving previously as an intern with us. As well working with the Whitby Fury of the OJHL this season, he will be covering minor and major midget in the Alliance region where he grew up playing AAA hockey. GTHL- Jason Gray
USA Tier1/HPHL/Prep - Matt Grainda
Entering his fourth year with TheScout.ca, Matt covers 14U, 15U and 16U players from the United States. Matt is based out of Indianapolis, IN and is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University – Bloomington. While at Indiana, Matt played on the Indiana University Hoosiers Division I ACHA ice hockey team and also served as the President and Vice President of the organization for four years. Chris Bowen- GTHL
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Chris spent the past four years running the NHL product for one of the largest sports gambling sites. Outside of that he has coaching and front-office experience in both the top men's and junior leagues back Australia.
Mitch Brandner- Alliance
Entering his first season with TheScout, Mitch is a graduate of the journalism program at St. Clair College in Windsor and has been involved with hockey his whole life. After interning with the Windsor Spitfires for two years and working with the Niagara IceDogs for one, both in a content producing role, he is looking to gather more experience in the field of hockey operations, where his true passion is. Mitch Avis- SCTA/Alliance
Branden is in his first season with The Scout. From the small town of Angus, Ontario to a recent graduate of Fanshawe College for broadcast journalism, he brings his journalism skills as well as an eye for talent to the team. Follow him on twitter @b_scott39 for updates all season long.
Brad is joining TheScout for his first season. Living in Whitby and coaching in the GTHL, Brad will be focusing on the Midget ETA and GTHL loops as players prepare for the 2018 U-18 Priority Selection, while also chipping in with Minor Midget reports for major tournaments. Brad played 2 years in the OJHL for the Whitby Fury and has been coaching in the GTHL for the past 3 seasons, as well as coaching the Cobourg Cougars summer development team in the OJDL the past 2 summers. Brandon Wright- GNML
Brandon is entering his first season with The Scout. Based out of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, he is also a regional scout for the Powell River Kings. Brandon began scouting in 2010, prior to attending law school. He now works full-time as an articling student at a law firm.
In his time with the Scout.ca, Brendan served as an Alliance area scout and then as the Director of Scouting for his final two years. His success in charge of site led to him landing a scouting role with the London Knights who he will begin his duties with in the 2017-18 season.
After creating and building TheScout.ca brand from ground up, Sean Lafortune mentored and led TheScout.ca team as the Director of Scouting for over a handful of years. His hard work and countless dedication to the game was rewarded in the Summer of 2016 when Sean accepted a scouting position with the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL. Matt served as our ETA Scout and is now with the Whitby Fury in the OJHL. He played for Port Perry Mojacks Jr.C for two seasons as a goaltender, winning the Cougar Cup in his second year. Matt and his wife Melissa are proud parents of their daughter Brooke.

Chris was a valuable member of TheScout.ca team since its inception and has been involved in hockey at various levels; as a player, strength coach, skill development coach, team coach and scout. His scouting career began in 2011 with the Ottawa Junior Senators of the CCHL, and since then they have expanded his involvement significantly. He has joined the Owen Sound Attack as an Ottawa scout. Brett covered the GTHL. He has been coaching AAA hockey for over 6 years. He holds a bachelor of commerce from Dalhousie University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
Kyle scouted for three years with TheScout.ca and covered the GTHL, OJHL as well as tournaments throughout the year. A former member of the Niagara Falls Thunder, Kyle has a keen eye for talent and hopes to bring that ability to the team.
Nick was our HPHL and Tier 1 scout for teams in the Detroit-Chicago area for part of one season before graduating to the staff of the Owen Sound Attack. Nick has coached at the ACHA Division I level for both Oakland University and started the program at Rochester College. He is currently in his second year coaching with Honeybaked U16. He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University where he served as team manager for the hockey team. David has been involved in hockey in many areas of the game and at various levels for the past 25 years. He is the owner and head skills coach for his company THT Hockey Development. THT Hockey serves the Golden Horseshoe, working with players and teams of all levels, beginner to professional. David also travels internationally in the summer to train professional players and prospects in Europe. He specializes in technical skating and shooting and develops his players using the latest technology, teaching methods, and proven skill progressions. David has many years of AAA and Junior coaching experience. McMaster University is where he studied Honours Kinesiology and earned a Bachelor of Education from Brock University specializing in Health and Physical Education.
