Director of Scouting - Brendan Ross

Brendan serves as the Director of Scouting for and is a recognized personality in the hockey prospect world who has made a name for himself through various media outlets (McKeen's Hockey, Dobber Hockey, The Hockey Writers, The Hockey Guys) profiling young up-and-coming talent. Based in Southwestern Ontario, Brendan tracks the progress of players in the Alliance and GOJHL leagues, as well as remains a credential OHL media member. Brendan holds degrees in Kinesiology and Education from Wilfrid Laurier University and University of Western Ontario, respectively, and works as a secondary school teacher. Alliance /GOJHL - Andrew Sykes 

Entering his fourth season with the, Andrew covers his area with passion and focus. He is based in the ALLIANCE region and also attends the major tournaments throughout the season. He operates and is the Director of scouting for the Windsor based website Windsor-Essex Hockey Prospectus. Andrew also works with the Lasalle Vipers of the GOJHL loop. SCTA - GOJHL - Matt Stewart

Matthew is entering his fifth year at and he brings a hardworking dedication to the job. A background in coaching gives him an edge when assessing talent. Matt is a real up and coming talent in the scouting world and has all the tools to be successful. He has graduated Brock University with a Sports Management degree. Based in the Niagara region, he covers the OMHA-SCTA and beginning this year will also cover the GOJHL, Major Midget and Bantam as with’s expanding coverage. Follow @stewbucs on Twitter

ETA - Matt Barbara

Entering his first year with as our ETA Scout. Barbara also scouts for the Whitby Fury of the OJHL. Barbara played for Port Perry Mojacks Jr.C for two seasons as a goaltender, winning the Cougar Cup in his second year. Matt brings a lot of hockey knowledge to the team and dedicates himself to producing intriguing reports and profiles. Matt and his wife Melissa are proud parents of their daughter Brooke.

CCHL/HEO U18 - Mat Milbery

Originally from Halifax Nova Scotia,Mat Milbery played AAA hockey before attending a prep school in Maine USA. Played for the Brockville Braves of the CCHL from 2003-2005, and CIS hockey at Royal Military College in Kingston ON from 2005-2007. Started coaching AAA hockey in the Ottawa area in 2009 and has been involved in coaching AAA hockey in the Ottawa area since 2009, aBeginning in 2014, Mat has been a Scout & Director of Player Development with the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL. He holds a Business – Administrative Accounting Diploma from St. Lawrence College Cornwall and is a Financial Security Advisor with Freedom 55 Financial. CCHL/HEO U18 - Brent Craswell

Scouting in his first year with, Brent grew up playing hockey as a goaltender in Nova Scotia before playing prep hockey in Ontario. He's a graduation of the University of Western Ontario and has a Law degree from Queens University. He practices employment and defense law in Ottawa and will be a key voice in covering our Ottawa region. Follow him on Twitter @brent_craswell. 

GTHL Area Scout - Brett Dowell

Entering his first year with, Brett covers the GTHL loop in Toronto and attends various tournaments throughout Ontario. Brett is currently entering his third season as the coach of the North York Rangers 2001 Minor Midget 'AAA' team and has been coaching AAA hockey in both the 2001 and 2000 age groups for over 6 years. He holds a bachelor of commerce from Dalhousie University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. Follow him on Twitter @CoachBDowell.

USA Tier1/HPHL/Prep - Matt Grainda

Entering his second year with, Matt covers both U14 Bantam and U16 Midget players from the USA. Matt is based out of Indianapolis, IN and is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University – Bloomington. While at Indiana, Matt played on the Indiana University Hoosiers Division I ACHA ice hockey team and also served as the President and Vice President of the organization for four years. Sean Lafortune

After creating and building brand from ground up, Sean Lafortune mentored and led team as the Director of Scouting for over a handful of years. His hard work and countless dedication to the game was rewarded in the Summer of 2016 when Sean accepted a scouting position with the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL. Kyle Craner

Kyle served as the ETA and Midget Scout with the team for two years before joining the Sarnia Sting in the same capacity in August 2016. Best of luck to Kyle in his future endeavours. Follow @kyleCraner on Twitter

Chris Cameron

Chris was a valuable member of team since its inception and has been involved in hockey at various levels; as a player, strength coach, skill development coach, team coach and scout. His scouting career began in 2011 with the Ottawa Junior Senators of the CCHL, and since then they have expanded his involvement significantly. He has joined the Owen Sound Attack as an Ottawa scout. GTHL Area Scout - Kyle Johnston

Kyle scouted for three years with and covered the GTHL, OJHL as well as tournaments throughout the year. A former member of the Niagara Falls Thunder, Kyle has a keen eye for talent and hopes to bring that ability to the team. 


USA Tier 1/HPHL/Prep - Nick Tomczyk

Nick was our HPHL and Tier 1 scout for teams in the Detroit-Chicago area for part of one season before graduating to the staff of the Owen Sound Attack.  Nick has coached at the ACHA Division I level for both Oakland University and started the program at Rochester College.  He is currently in his second year coaching with Honeybaked U16.  He is a graduate of Northern Michigan University where he served as team manager for the hockey team.  He also has a Masters Degree in Administration from Saginaw Valley State and is a school teacher in the Utica Schools district. GNML Area and ETA Scout - Nathan Didone 

Nathan served with team for three seasons, covering the Northern Ontario loop, including the GNML, NOJHL as well as various tournaments throughout the year. Follow @NathanDidone on Twitter.

ETA Area Scout - Jeff Fletcher

Entering his first year with, Jeff monitored and scouted the ETA Bantam and minor midget age grops for one season with Based out of Kingston, Jeff had valuable years of experience in AAA loop as a former coach and instructor. Follow him on Twitter @JeffFletcher27

GTHL and OMHA- SCTA Area Scout - David Tait

David has been involved in hockey in many areas of the game and at various levels for the past 25 years. He is the owner and head skills coach for his company THT Hockey Development. THT Hockey serves the Golden Horseshoe, working with players and teams of all levels, beginner to professional. David also travels internationally in the summer to train professional players and prospects in Europe. He specializes in technical skating and shooting and develops his players using the latest technology, teaching methods, and proven skill progressions. David has many years of AAA and Junior coaching experience. McMaster University is where he studied Honours Kinesiology and earned a Bachelor of Education from Brock University specializing in Health and Physical Education.
