April 2019 update of the Top 10 Ottawa 67’s Prospects heading into the 2019-2020 season.
The 67’s would be our pick as having the best draft in 2019 and the club’s first-round selection Jack Matier leads the way in our Top 10 Ottawa 67’s Prospects. Matier is a tall, smooth-skating blueliner who plays with great composure in all areas of the ice and in all facets of the game, and should be an effective all-situations anchor in the years to come.
The 67’s nailed their next few picks after Matier as well with the likes of Jack Beck, Brenden Sirizzotti, Thomas Johnston, Teddy Sawyer and Ranvir Gil. Beck, Sirizzotti, and Sawyer join Matier as players from the 2019 draft that the team has already signed.
Goaltender Will Cranley, a second-round pick in 2018, appeared in 11 games this season with the 67’s and is surely destined to begin next year as the back up to Cedrick Andree. Yanic Crete also saw 14 games of action this year and will be ready for a full-time spot and a productive rookie season in 2019-20
There are a host of big name players playing south of the border that are sure to have noticed the success in the nation’s capital this season. The likes of 2018 draft picks Colby Ambrosio, Dylan Peterson and Chase Bradley, along with 2019 picks Jeremy Wilmer, Davis Burnside and Tyler Boucher would all immediately be on this list and higher if they were to announce commitment to the club.
