Guelph Storm Top 10 Prospects

Guelph Storm

April 2019 update of the Top 10 Guelph Storm Prospects heading into the 2019-2020 season.

2019 first-round pick Danny Zhilkin headlines a strong prospect pool for the Storm. Zhilkin’s speed, skill, playmaking, and scoring ability give him the chance to have a productive rookie season in the OHL

The likes of Matthew Papais, Ben McFarlane and Luca Profaca all saw some time with the Storm this season and will be excited for full time duty in the 2019-2020 season.

Forward Jack Devine and defenseman Dylan Gratton were two gambles in this year’s draft and Gratton in particular is one to keep an eye on. Most would have expected him to go later in the Draft given his options south of the border, so his fourth-round selection is interesting. The fact that he was not selected to the U.S. National U17 team also adds to the intrigue. For a 15th round pick with no NCAA commitment to be in this Top 10 speaks volumes to what we think of Joseph Teasdale.

There are some big time players with Guelph ties but the likes of Sasha Pastujov, Spencer Smith, Eric Ciccolini, and Dylan and Ty Jackson seem unlikely to don Storm sweaters any time soon and are subsequently left out of the Top 10.
