2019 OMHA Minor Midget AAA Championships

The Whitby Wildcats claimed the 2019 OMHA Minor Midget Championship on home ice to wrap up the ETA and SCTA seasons.

After going 30-1-5 in the regular season, Whitby was upset in the ETA semi-finals by the York-Simcoe Express, but their status as hosts got them into the OMHA Championship field nonetheless. Led by their dominant top line of Brenden Sirizzotti, Thomas Johnston, and Ryan Winterton, the Wildcats went a perfect 5-0 over the weekend, outscoring their opponents 22-4 in four round-robin games and then shutting out Halton 5-0 in the championship game.

In the bronze medal game, York-Simcoe knocked off Quinte to earn a well deserved medal considering they were the team who eliminated Whitby in the playoffs. was in attendance with SCTA scout Ryan Stacey covering the event from start to finish and compiling the following report which includes selections for the Top 10 Performers, comments on 36 total players, and more honourable mentions.
