2018 OHL Battle of the Border Report

2018 OHL Battle of the Border

From November 9-11, Windsor once again played host to the Battle of the Border, an OHL showcase event that pits six of the top 16U programs from the HPHL against six Ontario minor midget AAA teams. Team managements from across North America packed the WFCU Centre for a look at elite talent from both sides of the border and were treated with some very entertaining hockey. The event was also highlighted by seminars and information sessions on what the players can expect if the Ontario Hockey League becomes their chosen path.

As otherwise was expected, the Compuware 16U team was the story of the event. Assembling several of the most impressive 2003 players in the U.S., they steamrolled their competition and left everyone drooling at the thought of a potential match-up with the Don Mills Flyers at the upcoming International Silver Stick (would need to combine rosters with their 15U team).

TheScout.ca had eyes on this marquee event from start to finish and we compiled the following report which includes selection for the Top 10 performers, comments on 48 total players, and more honourable mentions.
