After playing a starring role on the 2002 minor midget team which included scoring the Alliance championship winning goal in overtime, Callens was heavily courted by some of the top teams in the province, but in the end decided to stay with the Brantford 99ers. An all-around dynamic pivot, Callens has the gamebreaking attributes that immediately jump out of you and scream those of a first-round pick.
