Looking to keep things fresh here at TheScout.ca, we’ve returned with an OHL Draft feature series that was very popular with our subscribers last year - Inside the Scouting Notebook. Giving each of our area scouts to weigh in on several players from their regions, we asked them to highlight three players in three separate categories (see below) and speak to the type of player they are. This will be a regular feature on our site and there will be more editions in the New Year to highlight additional regional standout performers, based on our team of area scouts.
The following were the three categories and we asked our scouts to highlight a player that fits into each:
- Name a player from your region who has got off to a sizzling start to his draft season that you could place into the category of “TOP PERFORMER”.
- Name a player from your region who has continually impressed with each viewing that may not be getting the publicity that he deserves in his draft season who could fit into the “PLAYER TO WATCH” category.
- Lastly, name one player from your region who you have taken a personal liking to and wouldn’t mind attaching your name to as a “PERSONAL FAVOURITE” performer.
In Part 1, our regional scouts from the USA, Alliance and SCTA regions were polled.
Part 2 will feature the GTHL, ETA, HEO/Ottawa and Northern Ontario regions. It will be posted on Wednesday, December 21st.
Participating in this first part of our poll were area scouts Matt Grainda (USA), Andrew Sykes (ALLIANCE) and Matthew Stewart (SCTA), while Brendan Ross (HEAD SCOUT) chimes in on each region from his views as well.
