Always a great viewing of talent, the Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament in London is one of the major stops in the minor midget AAA season and the 2019 event was no different

An equitable mix of talent across the board, the tournament was really anyone's to win. Some of the stronger teams from the GTHL and SCTA were not in attendance but the competition remained fierce.

In the end it came down to the hometown London Jr. Knight and the American Oakland Jr. Grizzlies in the championship. Throughout the duration of the tournament, the Jr. Knights seemed to play better and better as a team with every game. Strong efforts starting in net from goaltender Sheffield all the way up to the opposing end from sniper McConnell–Barker helped carve a path to the final. The Oakland Jr. Grizzlies bosted some of the top American–born talent in the age group such as power forward and top prospect Rutger McGroarty. In the end, the home team would fall short and the Jr. Grizzlies would win the 2019 Wendy Dufton Memorial campaign.

Director of Scouting Ryan Ferizovic was joined by area scouts Zack Thompson, Ethan Wong, and Matt Pepper to take in the action over the weekend and contributed to the following report which includes comments on over 60 players, honourable mentions, and our selections for the Top 10 performers of the tournament. Media Producer Zach Scribner was also in attendance taking pictures and conducting interviews with top prospects.
